This terrazzo floor was done in Gainesville, Florida. It has Tennessee pink marble and burgundy marble chips and nothing else. That makes it a very rare floor. The quarry that mines Tennessee pink has been closed for many years. These rocks are hard to get a great shine with most wet systems. Our system made this floor look a lot like granite. Not many floors will ever be more reflective than this one. This floor looked fantastic.
Gainesville is rich in mid-century architecture. I love many of the old houses here. If you love mid century modern you must also love terrazzo flooring.
I have actually seen kitchens where the terrazzo floor is covered with fake terrazzo vinyl a couple of times. I do not know what that was all about. If you have a mid-century modern home with terrazzo that was covered, the chances it can be restored are very high.
